I actually prefer this as the quality is just superb. It is actually hard to take a bad picture with the lens and the Canon T2i. Its much more vivid than the Tamron. Doesn't have the same range of course. But if you can get a deal on this lens than go for it.Great lens and the stabilization will impress most people. 4 stops usage difference claimed. Good stuff.
