(Filter Adapter + Lens Cap + CPL Filter) (Electronics) After growing tired of waiting for a backordered Lee filter holder for my 14-24, I decided to take a chance and order this when it was first announced. I was skeptical that it would be a quality product given how muuch less it cost than the Lee system. I also bought a 145mm ND8 to go along with it.
I can only say that I am very pleased with the holder and the filters. The holder is all metal with the exception of the composite retaining ring that fits over the outside of the 14-24 built-in hood. It assembled easily, and my major concern that it would impede focusing and zooming due to pressure on the 14-24's hood was unfounded. When attached correctly, the holder was tight but there was no movement retriction. It also is supplied with a huge, metal lens cap. A bit hard to thread but it certainly protects those huge filters.
The filters themselves were very clean and without noticeable distortion when I compared images with and without them in place. The rotating... Read more
